short ass oneshot for stuie (hope u feel better) and also so i can maybe figure out a new hellsite

Ray sighed as he trudged up to the house. Today had been sort of a 'bleh' day. He'd woken up feeling off, made breakfast and realized the milk had gone bad, and found out the files for one of the songs he'd been working on had been corrupted because some intern at the studio pulled out the flash drive before making sure it was ready to be taken out.

He'd been angry and frustrated, but upon seeing how terrified the poor intern was, he found it in himself to let it go. He just had to re-record everything. Not impossible to fix.

That, however, didn't help the overcast feeling he had all day. He knew something that would probably work, though.

He knocked on the door, trying to organize his thoughts.

A short redhead covered in tattoos opened the door. "Oh- hey, Ray. What's up?"

Ray tried to smile, but he knew his weird, gloomy mood probably ruined that. "Just wanted to see you, Hurley. Can I hang out for a while?"

Andy stepped back, waving him in. "One of those days, huh?"

Ray just nodded as he walked in. He was grateful to know Andy. The guy just instinctively knew when something was up, and was always the best person to go to when things got rough. Like an emotional boulder.

"Take a seat on the couch. I was just making dinner. Hope you're okay with vegan brats."

Following directions, Ray wandered into Andy's living room. The Lord of the Rings was playing, and Ray found himself grinning. Another reason he was happy to know Andy Hurley. The guy was a huge nerd. He sat down just as Pippin knocked a skull down a well.

"Fool of a Took." Ray muttered under his breath.

It was just a couple minutes later that Andy walked in, two plates in hand. He quietly handed one to Ray, then sat down next to him to continue watching the movie.

Ray didn't realize how hungry he was. Not only did he eat two brats, but also the potatoes and broccoli that came with. His plate was set down on the coffee table, and he leaned into Andy as Frodo spoke with Galadriel.

Strong, tattooed arms wrapped tight around him, pulling him closer to Andy's chest. He hummed quietly, snuggling closer. At some point, a hand began to run through his hair, and he could feel himself almost purr.

The credits were rolling when Andy spoke, voice soft and gentle. "Do you need to talk about anything, or do you just need someone to be close to?"

"I don't know." Ray admitted, sighing. "I'm just in a funk today."

"Well, then why don't you tell me about your day?"

Ray pursed his lips. "It started off sorta weird. I woke up not feeling too great, and then when I got to the studio I found out someone pulled out the flash drive to something I was working on. Hours of work down the drain."

He could feel the rumble in Andy's chest as he made a noise of sympathy.

"I don't know what's up with me today. I'm just feeling sorta eh."

Andy pressed a kiss to Ray's hair. "Do you have anywhere you need to be tomorrow morning?"

Ray shook his head.

"Good. I've been wanting to do a Lord of the Rings marathon for a while."

Laughing, Ray snuggled up closer to Andy, who selected The Two Towers to play next. Andy held him tighter, before reaching over to grab a blanket, wrapping them both up.

Ray fell asleep at one point, tucked up close to Andy. He only knew that because he opened his eyes to the end of the third movie. Andy was playing with his hair, and he sighed happily. He could hear Andy chuckle.

"Feeling a little better?"

He nodded.

comments
